Netcher Road Covered Bridge
Science & Tech
Netcher Road Covered Bridge is a drivable covered bridge in Jefferson Township near Jefferson in Ashtabula County, Ohio, a county noted for its large concentration of covered bridges. Built in 1998, it is among the county’s newest examples and one of 17 still open to road traffic. Funded through an ODOT Timber Grant, it reflects a late-20th-century commitment to continuing traditional timber bridge construction rather than leaving covered bridges solely to the past. The single-span structure uses timber arches and inverted Haupt walls in a Neo-Victorian design. At 110 feet long and 22 feet wide, it remains a working part of the county’s historic covered-bridge landscape.
