Benetka Road Covered Bridge spans the Ashtabula River in northeastern Ohio, south of North Kingsville, and remains one of Ashtabula County’s 17 drivable covered bridges in a region noted for preserving them. Built around 1900 as a single-span Town truss, it reflects a widely used lattice design for wooden covered bridges. The structure is 115 feet long with an overhead clearance of 10 feet 9 inches, and a 1985 rehabilitation added laminated arches to strengthen it while keeping it in service. The site also reflects earlier settlement in Sheffield, once called East Matherson, and its nearby 19th-century water-powered mills.
