In 1834, the first log house on this site was built by Dustin Cheney. In 1835, the first Dibbleville child, Harrison Cheney, was born here. By 1851 the site was the residence of Ben Birdsall, and by 1891 it was the residence of A. J. Phillips. It is also associated with the memory of Jack R. Winegarden.
