Bull's Bridge spans the Housatonic River in Kent, Connecticut, at a crossing used since the eighteenth century. The first recorded bridge was built there in 1760 by Jacob Bull and his son Isaac at the river’s narrowest point, tied to the local iron trade. The present covered bridge dates from 1842 and was built in the Town lattice style associated with Ithiel Town. Its enclosed wooden design and high position above the river helped protect it from weather, floods, and ice. Altered repeatedly to remain in service, it is now one of only three surviving covered bridges in Connecticut and one of two still carrying motor vehicles.
