George W. P. Hunt, who lived from 1859 to 1934, was associated with Globe in Gila County, Arizona, an Apache warrior stronghold and pioneer home. He served in various territorial legislatures, was president of the Arizona Constitutional Convention, and became Arizona's 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 7th, 8th, and 10th governor, having been elected governor more times than any person of any state. He also served as United States ambassador to Siam.
