Kintla Glacier is a named glacier in Glacier National Park, Montana, on a plateau about 2 miles southwest of Kintla Peak and lying between roughly 8,700 and 7,700 feet above sea level. Although it has a singular name, it is actually made up of two glaciers, with ice broken by numerous crevasses. In 2005, their combined area measured 280 acres, a 34 percent decline from 1966. It is significant as one of the park’s named glaciers and as part of the larger story of glacier change in Glacier National Park.
