South Twin Mountain is a peak in New Hampshire’s White Mountains and the highest point on a north–south ridge in the Twin Range, linked to North Twin, Mount Guyot, and Galehead Mountain. Its open, rocky summit, edged by spruce and fir, creates an unusually exposed mountaintop setting. The Appalachian Trail crosses the summit between Galehead and Mount Guyot, while the North Twin Trail follows the ridge northward. The mountain is also notable as a watershed divide: some of its drainage reaches the Connecticut River and Long Island Sound, while water from its southwestern slopes flows through the Pemigewasset and Merrimack rivers to the Gulf of Maine.
