Mount Garfield is a White Mountains peak in Grafton County, New Hampshire, standing on Garfield Ridge between South Twin Mountain and Mount Lafayette within one of the state’s best-known high mountain landscapes. Its significance also lies in its position on a watershed divide: water from its south side flows through the Pemigewasset and Merrimack river system to the Gulf of Maine, while water from its north side reaches the Connecticut River and Long Island Sound. The mountain is also part of the Appalachian Trail, whose route follows the ridge and crosses the summit on its long course from Georgia to Maine.
