The Museum at Warm Springs in Warm Springs, Oregon, on the Warm Springs Indian Reservation, opened in 1993 as a cultural institution devoted to preserving and presenting Native history and traditions. Built to house a large collection of North American Indian artifacts, the 25,000-square-foot museum features galleries with artifacts, historic photographs, murals, graphics, rare documents, and interactive multimedia exhibits, including a Wasco wedding presentation, a song chamber, and a traditional Hoop dance. Its grounds also include walking trails along Shitike Creek, a picnic area, and an outdoor amphitheater for performances and demonstrations.
