Mount LaCrosse is a 6,417-foot summit in Washington’s Olympic Mountains within Olympic National Park, rising near Mount Elk Lick, the Anderson massif, and White Mountain. Its name comes from nearby Lake LaCrosse, whose earlier name, Lake of the Holy Cross, was inspired during the 1890 O'Neil Expedition by a cross-shaped tree near the shore; the name later shortened and shifted to LaCrosse, which the mountain adopted. First climbed in 1928 by Richard Paulson, William Ryer, Paul Wiseman, and Frank Woodworth, the peak stands in a wet marine climate. Its runoff feeds the Dosewallips and Duckabush rivers, and its rugged form reflects oceanic rock, glaciation, and erosion.
