Cleveland Peak is a 13,414-foot mountain in southern Colorado's Sangre de Cristo Range, standing on the boundary of the Sangre de Cristo Wilderness and Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve above the San Luis Valley. It is especially notable for its steep local relief, rising sharply above nearby lakes and creeks. Water from its eastern and western slopes drains through Sand, Pole, and Deadman creeks into the valley. The peak has an alpine climate, with snowy winters, cool to warm summers, precipitation in every season, and late-summer monsoon storms that often bring afternoon rain, hail, and lightning. It remains a rugged summit tied to the dramatic mountain front above Great Sand Dunes.
