Steep Falls Park is dedicated to all soldiers, sailors, and loyal women who served gallantly and made great sacrifices in all wars for the independence and preservation of their country, and it was given by Gideon Marshall Tucker of the 16th Maine Regiment, Company F, who served from Aug. 4th, 1862 to June 5th, 1865.
