The Porter-Parsonsfield Bridge is a rare surviving 19th-century covered bridge in western Maine, spanning the Ossipee River between Porter and Parsonsfield. Built in 1876 on the site of earlier bridges from 1800, 1808, and 1858, it reflects a long local history that included disputes between the two towns over construction costs and even roofing materials. The bridge is a two-span Paddleford truss resting on granite abutments and a central pier, later reinforced with laminated arches. Once part of what is now Maine State Route 160, it closed to vehicles in 1960, was restored after state maintenance began in 1967, and gained National Register recognition in 1970.
