Upper Wolfjaw Mountain is a 4,185-foot Adirondack High Peak in Keene, New York, in the Great Range between Armstrong Mountain and Lower Wolfjaw Mountain. Its name dates to about 1870, when landscape artist Alexander Helwig Wyant named the two Wolfjaw peaks for their profile. The first recorded ascent came on October 11, 1875, when surveyor Verplanck Colvin reached the summit with guides Ed Phelps and Roderick L. McKenzie. Long known as part of a full Great Range traverse, it remains a popular goal for High Peaks hikers. Its northwestern slope also contains prominent rock slides, including the Skinny Slide formed by Hurricane Floyd in 1999.
