Glastenbury Mountain is a summit in southwestern Vermont’s Green Mountains, within Bennington County and the Green Mountain National Forest. The Long Trail crosses it here along a section shared with the Appalachian Trail, making the mountain an important destination for long-distance hikers. Its summit features an observation tower maintained by the Green Mountain Club, with a shelter a short distance to the south. The mountain also marks a divide between waters flowing toward Long Island Sound and those reaching New York Bay. Known for its rugged setting, broad views, and place on major trails, it is also linked in regional lore with the Bennington Triangle.
