Mill Covered Bridge in Belvidere, Vermont, carries Back Road over the North Branch Lamoille River and is one of two surviving covered bridges in the town. Built about 1890 by Lewis Robinson, it is a single-span Queen post truss with a distinctive parallelogram shape caused by slightly askew stone abutments later capped in concrete. Its north and south portals have different finishes, and the bridge retains its wooden appearance despite steel I-beams added beneath the deck in 1971 after a snowplow broke through. Repaired in 1995, it remains an important example of the small rural bridges that once formed a dense local transportation network.
