Cashmere Mountain rises 8,514 feet in Washington’s Alpine Lakes Wilderness within the Okanogan–Wenatchee National Forest. Part of the Wenatchee Mountains in the Cascade Range, it stands amid sharp ridges, granite walls, deep glacial valleys, and many alpine lakes, with runoff feeding tributaries of Icicle Creek in the Wenatchee River system. The area’s climate is marked by heavy precipitation and especially strong winter snowfall as Pacific moisture is lifted over the range. Its broader landscape was formed over millions of years by terrane accretion, volcanic activity, uplift, and faulting, then deeply carved by repeated Pleistocene glaciations.
