Constructed in 1906 as the home of Rocky Mountain Bell Telephone, 22 East Center began as part of a telephone system established by pioneers in the transmission of information who took risks to find solutions. What started as a local concern in Utah quickly became a tool that revolutionized the world. Reporting on the building’s construction, the Logan Republic called it a fireproof structure with a basement and two stories, with the construction department in the basement, business offices and toll rooms on the first floor, and the upstairs occupied by the “hello girls.” Reopened in October 2018, 22 East Center maintains its historic tradition in a newly transformed state by rehabilitating an old and neglected building through perseverance and creativity into a fusion of history, art, and opportunity.
