Portland Mills Covered Bridge was built in 1856 by Henry Wolfe to a Burr arch truss design. It was moved here in 1961 to replace Dooley Station Bridge and was restored and reopened in 1996. Its horizontal yellow poplar siding was replaced with pine, and it has oak arches, new cedar shingles, and concrete abutments. In 1978 it was listed in the National Register of Historic Places with the Parke County covered bridges.
