Lyons Peak is a prominent mountain in San Diego County, California, with a summit inside an almost rectangular section of Cleveland National Forest and an old fire lookout tower at the top. The mountain lies on restricted land where trespassing is prohibited. Its name honors Nathaniel Lyon, who lived from 1818 to 1861 and passed by the peak in 1851 as an army captain while scouting a new route east toward the desert.
