Tolar Kitchen
History
2
Built in 1866 as a home south of town by Robert Tolar, this log structure was made from logs cut, squared, and notched on site. It has a "mud cat" chimney and a roof of hand-rived shakes. It was later converted into a cook house where three meals every day were cooked over an open fireplace until 1960, and pots were kept cooked "full" for travelers who "dropped in."
