Dolores Peak is a 13,296-foot summit in Colorado’s San Miguel Mountains, within the Rocky Mountains and the Lizard Head Wilderness. It rises on the drainage divide separating San Juan National Forest and Dolores County from Uncompahgre National Forest and San Miguel County, west-southwest of Telluride. Recognized as a Colorado thirteener, the mountain is notable for its position on this high divide and for an unsettled topographic question: it may be higher than nearby Middle Peak on the same ridge, which would make it the more topographically prominent of the pair. Over time, it was also known as Dolores Mountain, Dunn Peak, and Dunns Peak before its present name was adopted in 1965.
