Amberg Wildlife Area is a 1,190-acre protected tract in Wisconsin managed by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources within a larger landscape of public lands. First assembled in 1948 to provide deer habitat, it also protects rare swamp conifer terrain, including stands of 90- to 100-year-old white cedar. Today it includes the 909-acre Amberg Swamp Conifers native community management area and a 299-acre habitat management area. Part of the Northeast Sands property complex, it contains jack pine, black spruce, aspen, northern pin oak, and black ash, supports bird conservation, and provides habitat for deer, trout, and several notable bird species.
