Mount Jasper is a 12,923-foot summit on Colorado’s Continental Divide in the Indian Peaks Wilderness, west of Boulder, straddling Boulder and Grand counties within Arapaho and Roosevelt national forests. Its east slopes drain through Jasper Creek to Boulder Creek, while its west side drains by Cabin Creek toward the Fraser River. Although not marked by extreme local relief, it rises notably above nearby Jasper Lake and Cabin Creek. In an alpine subarctic climate, it has snowy winters, cool to warm summers, and precipitation in every season. Known as Jasper Peak until 2003, it is valued for its divide setting and its established hiking and scrambling routes.
