Kinsman Mountain, in New Hampshire’s White Mountains, is part of the Kinsman Range and was named for Nathan Kinsman, an early resident of Easton. Linked northeastward to Cannon Mountain by the ridge called The Cannon Balls, it has two main summits, North Kinsman and South Kinsman, both recognized as four-thousand footers. South Kinsman is the sixth most prominent peak in the White Mountains and the highest point between Franconia Notch and Kinsman Notch. Its slopes divide water between the Connecticut, Merrimack, and Gulf of Maine drainages, and ledges east of North Kinsman overlook Cannon Mountain, South Kinsman, Franconia Ridge, and Lonesome Lake.
