Hallett Peak is a 12,720-foot summit on the Continental Divide in Rocky Mountain National Park, rising above the Bear Lake area and the alpine lakes Emerald, Dream, and Nymph. Named for William L. Hallett, a prominent climber and founder of the Rocky Mountain Club who settled in the Estes Park area after arriving in 1878, the peak received its official name in 1932. In Arapaho it is called Bonoh'ooonoteyoo', or Thunder Peak. Known to both hikers and technical climbers, it is a signature Front Range mountain valued for its commanding position, dramatic setting, and demanding alpine environment.
