Petit Grepon is a semi-detached rock spire in Colorado’s Rocky Mountain National Park, grouped with the Cathedral Spires alongside Sharkstooth, the Saber, and the Foil. Rather than a broad summit mountain, it is known as a sharply defined tower and one of the park’s best-known climbing objectives. Its fame rests especially on the South Face route, featured in Fifty Classic Climbs of North America and widely regarded as a classic climb in its own right. Rising in an alpine subarctic climate with year-round precipitation, Petit Grepon remains an important landmark in American climbing within one of the nation’s most visited mountain parks.
