Sylvan Lake State Park in Eagle County, Colorado, lies about 10 miles south of Eagle within the White River National Forest. Established in 1987, the 1,548-acre park centers on a 42-acre mountain reservoir and includes forested terrain, wetlands, riparian habitat, and short trails. Its varied slopes and moisture levels support aspen groves, lodgepole pine, Douglas fir, ponderosa pine, and juniper. With a visitor center, boat ramp, campsites, cabins, yurts, and picnic areas, it serves both day visitors and overnight guests. Wildlife commonly seen here includes black bear, elk, bald eagle, mule deer, pine marten, and beaver.
