Mount Oxford is a 14,156.3-foot summit in Colorado’s Sawatch Range, within the Collegiate Peaks Wilderness of San Isabel National Forest northwest of Buena Vista. Part of the prominent Collegiate Peaks, it was named for the University of Oxford in keeping with the range’s collegiate theme and has also been known as Oxford Peak. The mountain lies just east by north of the slightly higher Mount Belford, and the pair are often climbed together. As one of Colorado’s fourteeners, Mount Oxford is part of the state’s well-known high-altitude landscape and remains a recognized destination in its central mountains.
