Mount Belford is a 14,203-foot peak in Colorado’s Sawatch Range, within the Collegiate Peaks Wilderness of San Isabel National Forest. One of Colorado’s fourteeners and the state’s nineteenth highest mountain, it stands about 15 miles northwest by west of Buena Vista and is closely linked with nearby Mount Oxford and Missouri Mountain, which hikers often combine on a single outing. Its standard route is a Class 2 climb, non-technical by mountaineering standards but still a serious ascent because of the high elevation and exposed alpine terrain. Belford is valued as both a scenic landmark and a popular climbing objective in the central Rockies.
