Emerald Peak is a 13,911-foot mountain summit in the Collegiate Peaks, part of Colorado’s Sawatch Range in the Rocky Mountains. It rises within the Collegiate Peaks Wilderness in San Isabel National Forest, about 14.7 miles west-northwest of Buena Vista. Because it stands just under 14,000 feet, it is classified as a thirteener rather than one of Colorado’s fourteeners. Its location in the high, protected country of the Collegiate Peaks places it within some of central Colorado’s best-known alpine terrain, where it remains a notable mountain landmark in the wilderness landscape.
