Bridge Canyon Wilderness is a protected desert wilderness in the Newberry Mountains of southern Nevada, within Lake Mead National Recreation Area and Avi Kwa Ame National Monument. Covering 7,761 acres and rising to about 5,600 feet, it is distinguished by rugged scenery of rock outcrops and caves. Water-bearing corridors along Grapevine Wash and Sacatone Wash support cottonwoods, while Grapevine Canyon contains canyon grape, cattails, and rushes. This combination of dry mountain landscape and sheltered riparian vegetation gives the area unusual variety. Added to the National Wilderness Preservation System in 2002, it also supports Mojave Desert wildlife including western chuckwallas, side-blotched lizards, and Gila monsters.
