The Subway is a short, distinctive stretch of the Great West Canyon in the Zion Wilderness of Zion National Park in southwestern Utah. On the Kolob Plateau between the North Guardian Angel and South Guardian Angel, the Left Fork North Creek passes through a narrow, sculpted corridor with tube-like, undercut walls that create the look of a natural tunnel. Though the slot itself is less than 0.25 miles long, visiting it requires a substantial canyon hike, either by a demanding one-way downstream route from Wildcat Canyon Trailhead or an easier out-and-back from Left Fork Trailhead. Its popularity and fragile setting have led to controlled access through a wilderness permit system.
