Moxley Covered Bridge in southern Chelsea, Vermont, carries Moxley Road over the First Branch White River and survives as the town’s only covered bridge from the 19th century. Built about 1886 to 1887, it is a single-span multiple kingpost truss bridge measuring 57 feet long and 17 feet wide, with a one-lane roadway. Its structure rests on stone abutments faced in concrete, with the south end anchored to a rock outcrop. Distinctive features include wrought-iron truss rods and offset trusses that give it a parallelogram shape. Part of a notable regional grouping of covered bridges, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.
