Lizard Head Peak is a 12,847-foot granite mountain in Wyoming’s southern Wind River Range within Shoshone National Forest. The northeasternmost peak in the Cirque of the Towers, it is a well-known landmark in a popular climbing area and the third-highest summit in the southern Winds, slightly east of the Continental Divide. It rises above the seasonally flooded Lizard Head Meadows, where a trail leads west toward the cirque. Ice remains on the mountain in several places, including Lizard Head Glacier near the summit, the South Fork Glacier on the northwest side, and a smaller glacier on the true north face. Together these features define this part of the range.
