Wolfs Head is a 12,165-foot mountain on Wyoming’s Continental Divide in the southern Wind River Range, rising above the northwest side of the Cirque of the Towers just north of Overhanging Tower. Closely linked to the Cirque’s climbing identity, it is connected to Pingora Peak by a narrow arête, and its East Ridge is widely regarded as a classic route, noted for its dramatic setting and exposed rock architecture. The mountain draws experienced climbers, but the surrounding terrain is serious and changeable, with hazards that include bears, snow, cold, rockfall, and steep class 4 and 5 ground where falls can be fatal.
