Conrad Glacier lies in Washington’s Goat Rocks region on the north side of Gilbert Peak. It flows north-northeast from about 7,500 feet toward barren rock and talus, and a proglacial lake at 6,416 feet now fills the area where the glacier once ended. Between 1970 and 2004, the glacier thinned by more than 29 feet in some places and split into several separate bodies of ice. These changes make it a clear example of recent glacier retreat in the Goat Rocks.
