The Robbins Museum in Middleborough, Massachusetts, operated by the Massachusetts Archaeological Society, serves as the society’s main museum for archaeology and regional history. Opened in 1988 in the renovated Robertson Factory building, it replaced the Bronson Museum in Attleboro after the growing collections outgrew that earlier space. Named for society founder Dr. Maurice Robbins, the museum now holds about 150,000 artifacts, with more than 3,000 objects displayed in 4,550 square feet of exhibit space. Its exhibits emphasize Native American life in New England, and the museum combines exhibitions, research, and education as an important center for understanding Massachusetts archaeology and the region’s deep human past.
