Old Speck Mountain, also called Old Speckle Mountain, is a major peak in western Maine and the highest, northeasternmost summit of the Mahoosuc Range at the northeastern end of the White Mountains. It is Maine’s fourth-highest mountain and the only White Mountains four-thousand-footer in the state, making it especially notable to New England hikers. Rising above Grafton Notch on the edge of Grafton Notch State Park, it is closely associated with the Appalachian Trail, which passes just west of the summit with a side trail to the top. Its slopes drain into the Androscoggin River watershed, and Speck Pond lies below the summit.
