A merry-go-round known as the "witch's hat" served the children of Roseville School during the early 20th century. Roseville, once located on the northeast corner of Darrell and Case Roads, was one of several one-room schools in Wauconda Township. The artifact is dedicated to the memory of the many farm families and the country schools in which their children received a good basic education, with special recognition to the Bacon family, a Centennial Farm family, for preserving this icon at their homestead on Darrell Road for well over 50 years.
