Proud of those who fought and died in the Civil War and of those who assisted the war effort in many ways, the people of Foxborough erected Memorial Hall in 1868 at a cost of $10,000 as a more suitable symbol of appreciation than a tablet and dedicated it to all whose lives were touched by war. Tablets inside honor the Patriots of 1776, veterans of 1812, and the Civil War. The building housed the Boyden library from 1871 to 1968 and now serves as the town museum and archives, where the past is preserved with pride to reaffirm faith in the future.
