Mount Buckskin is a 13,872-foot peak in Colorado’s Mosquito Range, part of the Rocky Mountains in the state’s central high country. Located in Pike National Forest about 4.9 miles west-northwest of Alma, it rises above South Park as part of the mountainous skyline. Because it stands higher than 13,000 feet but lower than 14,000, it is classified in Colorado as a thirteener. Its place among the high summits of the Mosquito Range makes it one of the prominent peaks that define this section of the Rockies.
