Lye Brook Wilderness is a protected area in Vermont's Green Mountain National Forest northwest of Stratton, managed by the U.S. Forest Service. Established in 1975 and enlarged in 1984 and 2006, it is one of the oldest wilderness areas in Vermont and one of eight in the national forest. Named for Lye Brook, which runs through its western half, it includes a high plateau, trails such as the Long Trail and Lye Brook Trail, and Lye Brook Falls, one of Vermont's highest waterfalls. Its largely northern hardwood forest and abundant wildlife reflect the area's relatively undisturbed character.
