Nature
Waterville Valley Resort, on Mount Tecumseh in New Hampshire’s White Mountain National Forest, grew from ski trails cut in the 1930s into a major New England ski mountain after opening as a resort in 1966. Its terrain expanded over decades, most notably through the Green Peak Project, and today offers broad snowmaking and a range of runs with intermediates making up the largest share. The mountain has held an important place in American skiing through Alpine World Cup races, early freestyle events, and a return to World Cup competition for moguls and dual moguls in 2023–2024. It also remains a center for ski training, club development, and year-round recreation.
