Nature
Little Haystack Mountain is a high peak on Franconia Ridge in New Hampshire’s White Mountains, between Mount Lincoln and Mount Liberty. The Appalachian Trail crosses its exposed crest, making it part of one of the United States’ best-known long-distance footpaths. Although its summit rises above 4,000 feet, it is not recognized as an official New Hampshire four-thousand-footer because it stands less than 200 feet above the col linking it to Mount Lincoln. Even so, it remains a popular destination, reached most often by the Falling Waters Trail and featured in a celebrated ridge loop with Lincoln and Lafayette.
