Blake Peak, also called Blake Mountain, is an Adirondack summit in New York’s Colvin Range between Mount Colvin and Pinnacle. Named for Mills Blake, chief assistant to Verplanck Colvin during the Adirondack Survey, it holds a distinctive place in regional hiking history. For many years it was thought to exceed 4,000 feet and was included among the 46 Adirondack High Peaks. Although later surveys found it slightly below that elevation, it remained on the traditional list. Its northwest slopes drain through the Ausable and Lake Champlain system to the Saint Lawrence, while its southeast slopes flow by Elk Lake and the Schroon into the Hudson and ultimately New York Bay.
