Parker Peak is a 12,861-foot summit in the Sierra Nevada of eastern California, within the Ansel Adams Wilderness and Inyo National Forest. Near June Lake and close to Yosemite National Park’s eastern boundary, it stands out from the June Lake Loop and June Mountain ski area, especially above Grant Lake, where it rises more than 5,700 feet in four miles. Pacific storms forced up over the Sierra give the mountain an alpine climate with rain and snow, and its runoff feeds the headwaters of Parker and Alger Creeks. Norman Clyde first climbed the summit in 1914, and it remains a prominent high Sierra landmark.
