Mount Grace, a 1,617-foot monadnock in Warwick, Massachusetts, is a rugged, wooded landmark within Mount Grace State Forest whose summit is crowned by the Warwick Fire Tower. Successive towers built in 1911, 1920, and 1939 made the peak important for fire observation, and the current steel tower remains seasonally staffed and is listed on the National Historic Lookout Register. The mountain also contains northern hardwood forest, a small hydrologic divide, and a recreation area shaped in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps. Although its name is linked to a King Philip’s War story, records tie that event instead to Sarah Rowlandson’s death elsewhere.
