Mendon Peak is a mountain in Rutland County, Vermont, on a spur west of the Coolidge Range in the Green Mountains, within Calvin Coolidge State Forest and east of Little Killington. It is included on the Appalachian Mountain Club’s New England Hundred Highest list, making it especially attractive to peak-baggers seeking lesser-known summits. Because its top is trailless and can be reached by several approaches, it retains a remote, less developed character than nearby trail-served mountains. The peak also lies in the Cold River watershed, with drainage flowing north and south through local brooks toward Otter Creek, Lake Champlain, the Richelieu River in Québec, and the Saint Lawrence system.
