Lander Glacier
Nature
Lander Glacier is a small glacier on Wyoming’s Wind River Indian Reservation, just west-southwest of Mount Lander and immediately east of the Continental Divide in the Wind River Range. Instead of forming one continuous sheet of ice, it is made up of three separate ice bodies on the mountain’s north and west slopes. The largest extends down the west slope from about 12,000 feet to 11,200 feet. Together these ice bodies form a compact high-elevation glacier landscape within one of Wyoming’s most rugged mountain regions.
